ABOUT OTTINE MINERAL SPRINGS Ottine Mineral Springs, nestled beside Palmetto State Park, is a historic treasure renowned for its rich legacy and commitment to health and wellness. PREP COOK (FULL‑TIME) The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen organization, and ensuring the kitchen is fully set up for daily service. This role supports the culinary team by executing prep tasks efficiently, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding food safety standards. This position requires some nights, weekends and holidays. Due to changing operational demands, it may be necessary to undertake various functions that are not specifically related to this position. This individual may be required to carry out additional tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Additionally, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and modification. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for daily service, including chopping, slicing, dicing, marinating, and portioning. Follow recipes and prep lists provided by the Executive Chef or Kitchen Supervisor. Set up stations and ensure all ingredients are ready for Food + Beverage Attendants before service begins. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen prep areas, walk‑ins, and storage areas. Label and store all food items properly following FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries. Monitor food quality and report any issues with freshness and inventory. Support basic cooking tasks as needed (e.g. sauces, stocks, batch items) Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards. Assist with end‑of‑shift cleaning and resetting the kitchen for the next service. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Must have availability on weekends and holidays. Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred. Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and knife skills. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts. CPR and first aid certification a plus and/or the willingness to be trained. Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 75 pounds. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures, and the capacity to communicate effectively and professionally.
