- Consistently obtains optimal quality specimens from inpatients and outpatients.
- Responds promptly to computer orders and telephone requests.
- Explains the procedure to the patient and answers questions appropriately.
- Orders the correct tests as indicated on the Medical Provider's requisition.
- Responds promptly to STAT and URGENT requests.
- Completes draw with one needle stick to obtain sufficient quantity of specimen greater than 95% of the time.
- Collects specimens other than blood samples, such as nasal and nasopharyngeal swabs, for testing.
Requirements 1. No license required - on the job training 2. Obtainment of Phlebotomy Certification required within the first 6 months of employment. 3. CPR and basic first aid recommended 4. High school graduate or equivalent GED Schedule: With consideration to our patients' and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
