Department Manager – McDonald’s® Managers lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience. Some managers also lead specific Departments, managing assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks, following up, and reporting results to their teams and other managers. Guest Service Department Manager Responsibilities Ensure crew and managers deliver a great customer experience. Ensure sales promotions are executed effectively. Ensure all service staff are trained in service procedures. Ensure Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas are organized for optimal service. Kitchen Department Manager Responsibilities Ensure the restaurant delivers high‑quality food quickly. Ensure food safety at all times. Control food cost. Ensure all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new menu items. People Department Manager Responsibilities Hire qualified crew members. Train crew members effectively. Schedule crew to meet restaurant sales and profit goals. Provide a positive onboarding experience and ongoing recognition and motivation.
