Description: This position involves a range of responsibilities within respiratory diagnostics. The specialist will float between units as required. Every other weekend is a requirement. The expected ratios will depend on patient acuity. Special requirements include floor care, emergency response, and rapid response capabilities. Experience with pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics is preferred. The facility features a total of 629 staffed beds and a variety of specialized units. Daily patient care may include the interpretation of arterial blood gases and aerosol set-up. Familiarity with tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation is essential. Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Pediatric experience is preferred for this role. Applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the charting system used within the facility. References covering one year of experience within the last three years are required prior to the start of employment.
