Logistics Coordinator - Freight Operations
Temp to Perm
$24 per/hr. onsite.
Monday through Friday / 8-5pm
There will be some after hour (laptop and cell phone provided) overtime compensated.

Position Overview
Our client is  looking for a motivated, organized, and driven individual to join our transportation team in a dual-function role supporting both backhaul operations and freight brokerage .
This position will work closely with our dispatchers, drivers, customers, brokers, and carrier partners to help maximize equipment utilization and ensure shipments are covered efficiently.
The ideal candidate does not necessarily need prior transportation or logistics experience . We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard, learns quickly, is comfortable with technology, communicates well, and can stay organized while managing multiple priorities.
Backhaul Responsibilities
The backhaul side of the position will focus on finding freight for our company drivers and owner-operators when they are completing a delivery and need their next load.
Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with dispatchers and drivers to understand when and where trucks will become empty.
• Search load boards and other transportation resources for available freight.
• Contact brokers and shippers to identify potential backhaul opportunities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with freight brokers and other transportation partners.
• Build new broker relationships and expand our existing network of reliable partners.
• Negotiate rates and evaluate loads based on rate, mileage, timing, and overall profitability.
• Match available freight with the right truck and driver.
• Communicate load details and updates clearly with dispatchers and drivers.
• Maintain accurate records of available trucks, potential loads, and booked freight.
• Be proactive in identifying freight opportunities rather than waiting for loads to become available.

Brokerage Responsibilities
On the brokerage side, the position will help cover shipments that cannot be handled by our company equipment or owner-operators.
Responsibilities include:

• Review available shipments that need to be covered with outside carriers.
• Utilize our existing carrier network and technology tools to identify qualified carriers.
• Search for and contact carriers to cover available shipments.
• Build and maintain relationships with reliable carriers.
• Negotiate carrier rates and book shipments.
• Verify carrier availability, equipment, location, and other shipment requirements.
• Communicate pickup, delivery, and shipment information to carriers.
• Track shipments and provide updates as needed.
• Ensure accurate documentation and information is entered into our transportation systems.
• Follow up with carriers throughout the shipment process to ensure successful completion.

Transportation or logistics experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, work ethic, and ability to learn.
