Astar is looking for a motivated HVAC Comfort Advisor / Outside Sales Representative to meet with homeowners, understand their heating and cooling needs, and help them select the right comfort solutions for their homes.

We’re open to several different backgrounds. You may be an experienced HVAC technician or installer who knows the equipment and is ready to move out of the tools and into sales. You may already have HVAC or mechanical sales experience. Or you may be a proven commission-based salesperson from another industry who knows how to build trust, follow a sales process, and close business.

What matters most is that you can connect with homeowners, understand their needs, communicate solutions clearly, and are motivated by the opportunity to earn based on your performance.

You’ll be backed by experienced service, installation, customer service, and operations teams so you can focus on providing a great customer experience and helping homeowners make confident decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Meet with homeowners to evaluate their heating, cooling, and indoor comfort needs.
• Assess existing HVAC systems and understand customer priorities around comfort, efficiency, reliability, and budget.
• Recommend appropriate HVAC replacement and upgrade options.
• Present equipment, financing, warranties, and installation options clearly and professionally.
• Prepare accurate proposals and estimates.
• Help customers understand the differences between available solutions without relying on high-pressure sales tactics.
• Follow up on open proposals and maintain consistent communication with prospective customers.
• Build trust with homeowners and guide them through the decision-making process.
• Coordinate sold projects with installation, customer service, and operations teams to ensure a smooth handoff.
• Maintain accurate customer notes, proposals, and sales activity in company systems.
• Stay current on HVAC equipment, products, promotions, financing programs, and available solutions.
• Consistently work toward sales, conversion, and revenue goals.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re open to candidates from three primary backgrounds:

• HVAC Technician or Installer ready to move into sales. You understand residential HVAC systems and enjoy working with customers. Previous sales experience is a plus, but not required.
• Sales professional with HVAC or mechanical experience. You have experience selling within the residential or commercial HVAC, mechanical, construction, or related industries.
• Experienced commission-based salesperson. You have 2+ years of successful sales experience, preferably in a commission, draw, or performance-based compensation environment. Automotive sales professionals and others accustomed to consultative, high-value purchases can translate well into this role.
