General Summary Description of Job:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to service industrial vacuum pump systems in a production environment, utilizing hands-on technical expertise and problem-solving skills. The role involves using various tools to teardown, prep, and assemble systems while ensuring product quality, with opportunities for independent decision-making under supervision. Successful candidates must pass a background check and drug screening. This role does not include Highvac's standard benefit offerings.

General Responsibilities:

• Disassembles/assembles Industrial Vacuum Pump Systems at floor stations.
• Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
• Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
• Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary.
• Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions may require exercising independent judgment.

Education:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Prefer 2-5 years of experience in a mechanical field or a related area.
• Basic equipment electrical experience preferred

Knowledge Needed:

• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the mechanical field.

Skills and Abilities:

• Uses instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Strong verbal/written communication and basic math skills
• Strong skills in troubleshooting

Work Environment:

• Work is generally confined to a workshop/production environment
• Part-time (20-30 hours) M-F, work schedule to be determined
• Requires steel-toed shoes / safety glasses

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand/sit for 8+ hours per day
• Must be able to bend, twist, squat, turn, grasp hand or power tools, lift and push heavy objects in the production area. Frequently lifts, carries, pulls or pushes up to 50 lbs.
• Will be working around several types of chemicals.
• Must be safety conscious and aware of surroundings at all times.
• Verbal and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication through automated devices, such as telephones, radios, etc.
• Constant use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery or equipment.
• Visual capacity enabling constant use of computer or other work related equipment.

Additional Information:

• We require successful completion of a written and hands-on mechanical aptitude assessment.
• We require successful completion of Drug Screening and Criminal Background.
• Part time roles do not include standard benefit offerings
