Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, ensuring efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience within The Shriners Hospital for Children.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Assistant assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical recordThe Medical Assistant works with and under the direction of the RNAssists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes. Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Assists in cast room as neededResponsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering suppliesUtilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as neededOther duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBasic Life Support (BLS) within three monthsHigh School Diploma / GEDCertified Medical Assistant (CMA)Preferred QualificationsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA)Two years' experience as a Medical AssistantTwo years' pediatric care experienceAmerican Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)The pay range for this position is $21.97 - $32.95. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
