Staff Tax Accountant

Job Description Staff Tax Accountant Our client is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant to join their growing team. This position will support a variety of tax compliance, reporting, and accounting functions, with exposure to premium tax, insurance tax, tax provisions, regulatory filings, and tax research. Key Responsibilities Prepare assigned premium tax, insurance tax, and related regulatory filings accurately and within required deadlines Support quarterly and year-end close processes, including the preparation of tax accrual journal entries and supporting schedules Assist with the preparation and consolidation of quarterly and annual tax provisions Prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations and assist with timely tax payments Conduct tax research and technical analysis to support compliance, reporting, and planning initiatives Perform account reconciliations, track cash payments, and assist with variance analysis Collaborate with internal teams to gather, review, and validate data required for tax filings Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal controls Identify opportunities to improve processes and support automation initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy Assist with audits, special projects, and other tax-related initiatives as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Previous accounting or tax experience Exposure to insurance, premium tax, or regulatory reporting is a plus Experience with tax provisions, account reconciliations, or journal entries is a plus Interest in process improvement and automation Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work within established deadlines Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $62,000–$72,000 Medical, dental, and vision coverage effective the first day of the following month 22 days of PTO 11 paid holidays 401(k) with 6% employer match Professional development and growth opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr
