About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President, Strategic Ventures Legal Counsel to play a pivotal role in the legal aspects of its global real estate growth strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance on a range of strategic ventures, including joint ventures, programmatic partnerships, and private credit platforms. This role demands a high level of expertise in fund formation, structuring, and management, as well as a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance issues across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, be admitted to at least one U.S. state bar, and have a minimum of five years' relevant transactional legal experience, with a focus on real estate funds, lending/private credit, and private equity. Key responsibilities for the Associate Vice President, Strategic Ventures Legal Counsel include overseeing the legal execution of all strategic ventures, ensuring compliance with federal and global securities laws, and partnering with senior leadership to advance the company's strategic objectives. The role also involves fostering a collaborative and purpose-driven culture, managing external counsel, and presenting clear, commercially grounded legal recommendations to senior management and investment committees. The candidate should be adept at negotiating agreements with institutional investors, managing investor relations, and capital raising activities. Experience in real estate transactions and administering compliance programs for SEC-registered investment advisers is preferred. The position requires a leader who can develop and implement best practices, and who is committed to the values of the company, including diversity and inclusion.
