About this Position: The Emergency Department PT role is crucial for assessing care appropriateness, consulting with healthcare professionals, and delivering direct patient care. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for examining, evaluating and testing individuals with mechanical, physiological and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities or other health and movement-related conditions in order to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and plan of treatment intervention, and assess the ongoing effects of intervention. The PT is also responsible for alleviating impairments, functional limitations and disabilities by designing, implementing and modifying treatment interventions. Additional responsibilities include reducing the risk of injury, impairment, functional limitation and disability, as well as, the promotion and maintenance of fitness, health and wellness in populations of all ages. The PT is engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The PT is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. Youll bring physical therapy directly into the Emergency Department, providing early assessment and intervention to help determine the safest and most appropriate plan of care. Youll work closely with the ED and interdisciplinary team while treating a diverse range of acute and chronic conditions. How many patients will I see each day? Patient caseloads vary based on ED volume, patient complexity, and individual treatment needs. Our focus is on providing timely, high-quality care while allowing clinicians to complete thorough assessments and provide individualized recommendations. What patient populations will I work with? Youll work with patients of all ages presenting to the Emergency Department with a variety of acute and chronic conditions affecting mobility and function, including musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular/pulmonary, and other functional impairments.
