Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides clinical support in an outpatient oncology clinic, assisting with patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This role involves direct patient interactions, clinical procedures, and documentation within a specialized cancer treatment environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and take vital signs, reporting any abnormal findings to the healthcare team.
  
  
• 
  Document clinical notes and patient information accurately within the electronic medical record system (EPIC).
  
  
• 
  Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures as needed.
  
  
• 
  Manage patient flow efficiently, ensuring timely care and adherence to clinic protocols.
  
  
• 
  Float between oncology clinics and treatment areas, supporting various patient groups including adolescents and adults.
  
  
• 
  Maintain compliance with all clinic safety standards, certifications, and documentation requirements.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent educational background.
  
  
• 
  Hold a current BLS (AHA) certification.
  
  
• 
  Have at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience, including phlebotomy and EKG procedures.
  
  
• 
  Certified as a Medical Assistant through AAMA, NHA, NCCT, AMCA, or NAHP.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
  
  
• 
  Active NJ or Compact Medical Assistant license required at time of submission.
