We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Coordinator to join our team in the healthcare industry. As the Surgical Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the surgical scheduling process, ensuring that all procedures are scheduled efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with physicians, surgical facilities, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all surgical procedures are properly coordinated and executed. Your role will be critical in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care possible. Responsibilities: Scheduling Responsibilities (80%) Collaborate closely with physicians, surgical facilities, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the seamless coordination and execution of surgical procedures. Communicate clearly and comprehensively with patients and their families, equipping them with the necessary information to prepare for surgical interventions. Management Responsibilities (20%) Work with the team to document and update the surgical scheduling process, ensuring that all procedures are scheduled in an efficient and effective manner. Work with the team to maintain precise and current records of all surgical procedures to support operational integrity. Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure adherence to the established requirements of surgical facilities and compliance with relevant regulations. Serve as an essential backup for surgical teams when needed, ensuring operational continuity. Execute additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned to support overall departmental goals. Other responsibilities as assigned Skills: As the Surgical Coordinator, you will use your organizational and communication skills daily. You will need to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software will ensure that all records and schedules are properly maintained. Additionally, your ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment will ensure that all surgical procedures are properly coordinated and executed. Your bilingual skills in English and Spanish will be an asset in communicating with our diverse patient population. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field 3-5 years of experience in surgical scheduling or related field Strong organizational and communication skills Team player, strong work ethic, and easygoing Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field Experience with the NexTech system Certification in surgical technology or related field Experience working with an ophthalmology practice with 10 or more physicians Bilingual in English and Spanish We offer generous PTO, 401(k) contributions, and competitive insurance benefits for full-time regular employees.
