Senior Consultant, Data Integration Engineering

Our teams work at the intersection of data engineering, financial management, and technology modernization to deliver innovative solutions that drive client success.Position Overview: FI Consulting is seeking a Data/Integration Engineer to support a federal agency program modernization effort. This role will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and system integrations that support financial operations, reporting, reconciliation, and process automation.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines and system interfaces.Integrate financial, operational, and business systems to support data movement and reconciliation processes.Develop and support ETL processes, APIs, and database integrations.Build solutions that improve data quality, availability, and accuracy.Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, data models, and integration documentation.Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to define requirements and implement solutions.Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize system performance.Support automated financial reconciliations and reporting processes.Contribute to cloud-based and modern data architecture initiatives.Ensure solutions adhere to security, governance, and data management best practices.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.6+ years of experience in data engineering, systems integration, ETL development, or database administration.Experience designing and implementing enterprise data pipelines.Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), and the ability to evaluate and apply new technologies to solve business problems.Strong SQL development experience.Experience working with APIs, data integration platforms, and relational databases.Experience with ETL tools and automated data processing solutions.Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.Must be available to work onsite in Washington, DC upon project start.Preferred Qualifications:Experience integrating federal financial systems.Familiarity with Delphi, PRISM, Oracle EPM/IMPACT, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise platforms.Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.Experience with Python, C#, Java, or other modern programming languages.Experience supporting financial management, accounting, budgeting, or reporting environments.Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and master data management practices.Experience supporting federal government clients.What We're Looking For:Naturally curious and eager to learn new technologies and business concepts.Strong collaborator who enjoys solving complex client challenges.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.Passion for continuous improvement and process optimization.Interest in helping shape innovative solutions that deliver measurable client value.FLSA Designation:This is an exempt position.FI Consulting participates in E-Verify.Equal Employment Opportunity/disability/protected veteran status.FI Consulting is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with physical and mental disabilities.
