Hourly Pay Range: $57.79 - $79.76 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Location: Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview, IL
• Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/week)
• Hours: Monday Friday between 8:00AM 4:30PM. No Weekends, holidays, evenings, or call.
• Required Travel: Between locations as needed.
• Outpatient role (clinic-based)

Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health Cardiovascular Institute Vascular Surgery Team! Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants. Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals. Supports the strategic plan of the organization. Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• Education: Completion of master's level program in specialty area
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required
• Experience : Prior APN/PA experience preferred, but willing to train new grads.

Preferred Special Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with the ability to evaluate complex vascular conditions.
• Knowledge of vascular disease, including peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease, venous insufficiency, varicose veins, aneurysmal disease, and limb-threatening ischemia.
• Ability to obtain and interpret vascular history, physical examination findings, and diagnostic testing in collaboration with the vascular surgeon.
• Familiarity with vascular imaging, including arterial and venous duplex ultrasound, CTA, MRA, and other vascular studies.
• Experience managing patients with chronic vascular conditions and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
• Ability to recognize urgent vascular conditions and appropriately escalate care.
• Strong wound assessment and wound-care skills, particularly for vascular/ischemic wounds.
• Experience assisting with or managing preoperative and postoperative vascular surgery patients.
• Ability to provide patient education regarding vascular disease, risk-factor modification, medications, procedures, and postoperative care.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with vascular surgeons, APPs, nurses, medical assistants, vascular technologists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Ability to work independently while appropriately collaborating with the vascular surgeon.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple patients and competing priorities in a high-volume clinical environment.
• Proficiency with EPIC/EHR documentation and clinical workflows.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, quality, safety, and evidence-based practice.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of advanced practice experience, preferably in vascular surgery, vascular medicine, cardiovascular surgery, cardiology, or a related specialty.
• Previous experience working directly with a vascular surgeon or vascular surgery practice.
• Experience managing postoperative vascular surgery patients.
• Experience with vascular procedures, wound care, or outpatient procedural clinics.
• Experience interpreting or working closely with providers who interpret vascular ultrasound and other vascular imaging.
• Experience with inpatient consultation, hospital rounds, or surgical services is preferred if the role includes inpatient responsibilities.
• Experience with venous disease/varicose vein evaluation and management is highly desirable.
• Experience with peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease, aneurysm surveillance, and postoperative vascular patients preferred. BLS certification; ACLS certification if required by the practice setting
