Skilled Technician

Job Overview The Advanced Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards, building customer loyalty by ensuring confidence in AutoNation as a reliable care‑giver for vehicle safety. Responsibilities Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards. Communicate with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to manage production and customer communication. Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs if authorized by the customer. Conduct multi‑point inspections to make appropriate recommendations, ensuring the safety and reliability of customer vehicles. Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order. Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools that are not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.” Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory‑sponsored training classes as appropriate. Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Two or more years of experience as an automotive technician. Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs). Attention to detail, organization, and follow‑up skills. Valid in‑state driver’s license with an acceptable, safe driving record. Passion for cars and customer service.
