Data Center Architect

Job Title

Job Overview: Pay Range: $75hr - $80hr

Responsibilities

Perform technical due diligence on new and existing data center facilities, evaluating power, cooling, redundancy, connectivity, and scalability.

Review infrastructure drawings, layouts, and single-line diagrams to assess design maturity and contractor capability.

Identify technical, schedule, and scalability risks and provide structured reporting.

Validate infrastructure alignment with high-density computing and future technology roadmaps.

Design scalable, modular lab environments optimized for density, airflow, accessibility, and operational efficiency.

Define and enforce global lab and data center design standards across business units.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and integrate energy-efficient and sustainable design practices.

Utilize modeling and simulation tools for airflow and thermal validation.

Define corporate standards for power distribution, cooling systems, IT networking space, and rack density.

Lead initiatives for high-density and liquid cooling readiness and advanced cooling technologies.

Support integration of renewable energy strategies and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Oversee implementation of DCIM, monitoring, and automation platforms.

Develop modular and POD-based expansion strategies for long-term scalability.

Monitor construction progress, quality, and contractor performance against schedules and budgets.

Evaluate supply chain readiness for critical infrastructure components.

Lead design reviews to ensure alignment between architectural intent and execution.

Oversee commissioning activities and validate operational readiness prior to deployment.

Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, Real Estate, Procurement, and Product teams.

Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining timelines and quality standards.

Provide executive-level reporting on risks, budgets, and project status.

Maintain detailed documentation of specifications, assessments, and project progress.

Preferred Experience

Experience in semiconductor or high-density data center design, construction, or operations.

Proven track record in large-scale lab or data center architecture and deployments.

Strong expertise in infrastructure assessment and technical due diligence.

Experience reviewing construction drawings and managing commissioning processes.

Familiarity with high-density computing, cloud-scale environments, and high-performance networking.

Experience with airflow modeling and thermal simulation tools.

Knowledge of DCIM and infrastructure monitoring systems.

Relevant data center certifications (e.g., DCCA, CDCDP) preferred.
