Senior Systems Engineer - Federal (CIV)

As a Senior Systems Engineer supporting the Department of Energy (DOE), you will act as a trusted technical advisor to national laboratories, research institutions, and federal integrators—guiding customers through architecture design, evaluation, and deployment of VAST’s data platform for mission‑critical workloads. You will work closely with Federal Account Executives, system integrators, and channel partners to drive adoption across HPC, AI/ML, scientific computing, energy research, and classified/unclassified environments. The Role Support business development across DOE accounts, including national labs and affiliated research institutions. Work closely with Federal sales teams and channel partners to sell the VAST Data platform. Align technical sales activity with federal procurement and buying cycles. Manage customer relationships from initial engagement through (optional) proof of concept and post‑sale expansion. Develop and deliver technical proposals and architectures aligned to DOE mission workloads. Prospect, penetrate, and support large, complex federal accounts. Requirements 5+ years of experience supporting the sale of enterprise storage or data platforms in large IT environments. Experience working with Federal customers, preferably DOE or national laboratory environments. Understanding of HPC, AI/ML, and large-scale unstructured data workloads. Experience delivering technical architecture and product presentations. Knowledge of virtualization, high‑performance networking, and enterprise security.
