Job Summary
This position is responsible for directing and managing a sales team for the East Coast region, in addition to mentoring and direct support through traveling. The Senior Sales Director is to spend at least 70% or more time with the sales team working in their territories, meeting customers, spending time in the ORs, and helping the sales team meet their sales and profit goals in line with the annual and long-term financial aspirations.
Job Details/Responsibilities
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. 2. Direct, motivate, educate, and support regional sales team or Distributor representatives to enhance their selling skills.
- Develop and maintain relationships with upper management within distributor networks.4. Responsible for forecasting and meeting revenue, gross profit, and margin objectives for the specific region.
- Travel with and make joint sales calls with Territory Managers or Distributor Representatives to evaluate progress, offer constructive criticism, and provide direction.
- Coordinate with Marketing Managers on product issues, competitive activity, pricing, and industry trends and other information obtained through field exposure.
- Responsible for driving corporate strategy and initiatives within their regions, through development of regional sales strategies for implementation by Territory Managers or Distributor Representatives.
- Attend trade shows, conventions, and seminars to increase technical knowledge and interact with customers.
- Oversee activities within region to maintain expense control.
- Review weekly and monthly sales and expense reports with Territory Managers if applicable.
- Meet with key physicians and develop continuing relationships to ensure recommendations of products.
- Maintain existing accounts and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Function as National Sales Leader representative.
- Utilizes the systems and processes in place to attract, develop, engage, train, and retain talented Associates; creating a work environment where Associates can realize their full potential, thus allowing the organization to meet business needs.
- Collaborate proactively with Marketing, Clinical, Supply Chain, and other functional partners to drive aligned strategies, feedback loops, and market execution.
- Utilize data tools, analytics, and commercial insights to guide regional strategy, forecast accuracy, account prioritization, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Champion organizational change initiatives, ensuring adoption, communication clarity, and alignment across the region.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Background Experiences
Requires a four-year college degree and a minimum of ten years of medical device sales experience, including a minimum of three years of management experience. Basic computer software skills, i.e., Microsoft Office.
This position requires travel up to 75% and may be eligible to work remotely 20% of the time. This may change based on job responsibilities, project/business needs and/or Associate job performance. In all cases Associates may need to have on-site presence for designated meetings and compliance related activities.
