Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Nurse position available in Adair, Iowa. This role involves providing care to voluntary patients in an inpatient substance abuse treatment facility for individuals aged 18 and older. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of work. The position requires working days with a schedule of 12-hour shifts.

Job Details:

• Location: Adair, Iowa
• Schedule: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI); 12 months of prior experience in an inpatient rehab setting with Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol (CIWA) and Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS)
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in psychiatric settings
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Inpatient substance abuse treatment facility for 18+ ages
  • Must be able to perform CIWA, COWS, urine drug screenings, and establish/maintain firm, empathetic boundaries
  • No restraints used; voluntary patients only
  • Administrative on-call and doctor on-call available at all times
  • No on-site security; visiting hours are Sundays 1-4 p.m.
  • Orientation includes 2-3 days of training on 12-hour shifts until ready to work independently
  • Remote area; confirmation of housing or travel arrangements required prior to submission
