Make a meaningful difference supporting students at an elementary school in central Alabama by providing expert speech-language services during a 12-week maternity leave. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional passionate about fostering language and communication skills in young learners.

You’ll work onsite with a PreK–4th grade caseload of approximately 50 students, collaborating closely with educators and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements and Desired Experience

• Current State Speech-Language Pathologist License
• Valid Educator Certification for working in schools
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Previous school-based SLP experience, particularly with early childhood and elementary populations
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
• Ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct speech-language therapy services for students as outlined in their IEPs
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and participate in eligibility meetings
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates to the educational team
• Engage in school-based meetings and support interdisciplinary collaboration
• Offer strategies and support to classroom teachers and families for carryover of skills
