Emergency Medicine Physician – Rural Health, Valdez, AK

- Location: Valdez, AK
- Start Date: 07/16/2026
- End Date: 08/10/2026, with potential for additional shifts through 10/2026
- Shift: ~4 ten-hour shifts per week, clinic & overnight beeper call (8a-6p & night call)
- Hours/week: 40+ during scheduled shifts
- Employment Type: Contract (Travel/Locum)
- License/Certs: Active/IMLC license, DEA, BC in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice with rural health experience
- Experience: Previous ER, hospitalist, OB, or rural health experience preferred
- Pay rate: $1.00/hour (rate to be confirmed and discussed upon application)

- Provide emergency care in a rural hospital setting, including ER procedures and trauma management
- Manage outpatient and primary care needs, including obstetric emergencies and C-sections if necessary
- Collaborate with hospital staff to stabilize and transfer patients as required
- Perform inpatient duties, including initial assessments and ongoing patient management
- Support hospital operations during high-acuity periods and provide coverage for various shifts
- Assist with after-hours and overnight call responsibilities (beeper call)
- Active or IMLC medical license
- DEA license
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice (with rural health experience preferred)
- 2+ years of clinical experience in ER, hospital, or rural health settings
- Strong procedural skills, including obstetric emergency procedures (if applicable)
- Ability to work independently in a remote, high-acuity environment
