Maintenance Technician

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex equipment while also mentoring junior technicians and leading maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), including lubrication, adjustments, alignments, and safety checks Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments Operate forklifts and lifting equipment (hoists, cranes, scissor lifts, etc.) Work with shop equipment such as lathes, mills, presses, and saws Diagnose issues with motion controls, sensors, and electrical systems Repair and overhaul components such as pumps, cylinders, valves, and motors Lead complex maintenance activities and assist with training junior technicians Maintain accurate documentation and complete work orders Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced production environment Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Maintain a clean and organized work area Required Qualifications 2+ years of technical training OR 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and industrial equipment Experience with electrical systems, controls, and basic troubleshooting Prior Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience Ability to read schematics and technical documents Basic computer skills Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience with PLC troubleshooting or programming Background in HVAC, compressed air systems, dust collection, or electrical distribution Welding, machining, or fabrication experience EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: Surge is an equal opportunity employer.
