Payroll Specialist

LHH Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist. The anticipated pay range for this role is between $30-$34 an hour.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time.
• Review and verify employee timecards, earnings, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Process new hires, terminations, garnishments, direct deposits, and tax withholdings.
• Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end activities, including W-2 preparation.
• Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee and payroll data.
• Support payroll audits and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paychex, Workday, or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• CPP certification is a plus but not required.
