Now Hiring: Pipe Yard Maintenance Technician

Location: Midland, Texas

Position Summary

· The Inspection Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of inspection equipment and support machinery used in pipe yard operations.

· This position ensures all inspection systems, hydraulic power units, hydro testers, cleaning machines, bucking units, forklifts, utility vehicles, and related equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational.

· The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills and have experience performing routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment inspections in an industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform preventive maintenance on all inspection and production equipment.

· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

· Maintain and repair EMI inspection equipment and associated support systems.

· Service and maintain pipe cleaning machines, hydrotest units, bucking machines, and material handling equipment.

· Diagnose and repair hydraulic power units (HPUs), pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings.

· Perform routine oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and lubrication programs.

· Inspect equipment for wear, damage, leaks, and safety concerns.

· Maintain forklifts, Kubota utility vehicles, generators, compressors, and other support equipment.

· Replace bearings, chains, sprockets, belts, rollers, seals, and other mechanical components.

· Read hydraulic schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.

· Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize operational downtime.

· Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and equipment inspection reports.

· Coordinate with operations personnel to schedule repairs and maintenance activities.

· Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.

· Maintain inventory of maintenance parts, fluids, and consumables.

· Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and lockout/tagout requirements.

Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or GED.

· Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance or heavy equipment maintenance experience.

· Experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems and hydraulic power units.

· Experience performing preventive maintenance programs.

· Knowledge of lubrication systems, oil changes, and fluid management.

· Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Preferred

· Experience in pipe yards, oilfield service facilities, machine shops, or industrial maintenance.

· Welding and fabrication experience.

· Forklift maintenance experience.

· Knowledge of EMI inspection equipment and hydrotesting systems.

· Electrical troubleshooting experience involving motors, sensors, and control systems.

· OSHA safety training or industrial maintenance certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Strong mechanical aptitude.

· Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.

· Preventive maintenance planning and execution.

· Equipment diagnostics and root-cause analysis.

· Welding and fabrication skills preferred.

· Time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

· Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

· Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and bending.

· Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

· Ability to safely work around heavy machinery and moving equipment.

· Ability to use hand and power tools for extended periods.

Working Conditions

· Industrial pipe yard environment.

· Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, hydraulic fluids, lubricants, and varying weather conditions.

· Occasional overtime, weekend work, and emergency call-outs may be required.
