Senior Associate/Of Counsel Attorney - Medical Malpractice Defense

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney or Of Counsel with 4-7 years of litigation experience to join their Healthcare and Litigation Strategy team in New York. This role offers a chance to handle complex litigation and work closely with experienced trial attorneys. Duties Conduct plaintiff and nonparty depositions in medical malpractice and other civil litigation matters. Defend physicians, hospitals, and healthcare providers at depositions or develop these skills through mentorship. Draft and argue motions. Draft pleadings and other litigation documents. Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and document demands. Attend court conferences, mediations, and oral arguments. Communicate effectively with judges, court personnel, clients, and opposing counsel. Collaborate with partners to develop litigation strategy and prepare cases for trial. Requirements J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in New York. 4-7 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice defense or complex civil litigation. Significant experience taking plaintiff depositions. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working collaboratively with a team. Education J.D. from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to practice in the State of New York. Admission to federal courts is desired but not required. Skills Strong deposition experience.
