Clinic Nurse

The clinic nurse's primary purpose is to support healthcare providers by delivering essential ambulatory nursing care while ensuring safe, efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. This includes providing direct clinical services—such as triage, immunizations, allergy treatments, wound care, and medication administration—and supporting preventive health initiatives like mass flu clinics. Additionally, the nurse contributes to quality and safety efforts through participation in peer review, continuous quality improvement, risk management, and policy development, helping maintain high standards of student-centered care. Occasional evening hours may be required.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe, efficient, and orderly flow of patient care through clinic services;
• Document care in Electronic Health Record;
• Perform phlebotomy and CLIA waived testing;
• Provide triage care and education for walk-ins and callers;
• Administer medications, immunizations, and allergy immunotherapy; and
• Provide education for self-injection therapy.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing;
• Active RN license in VA or valid multi-state license at time of hire; and
• BLS for healthcare providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience typically obtained in 2 years as an RN in ambulatory or in-patient care setting.
