Lecturer AY - Mechanical Engineering

Position Temporary faculty pool in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Cal Poly Pomona. Positions are filled as needed and may begin on short notice. Teaching terms: Fall (late August – mid‑December), Spring (mid‑January – mid‑May) and Summer Sessions. Open subject areas include Solid Mechanics and Materials, Thermal‑Fluids and Energy Systems, Circuit Analysis and Mechanical Measurements, System Dynamics, Control of Mechanical Systems, Robotics and Mechatronics, and advanced graduate‑level courses. Responsibilities Teach assigned courses, hold weekly office hours proportional to the unit load, and respond to student inquiries regarding registration, assignments, exam preparation, and grading. Courses may be scheduled day, evening, or weekend. Required Qualifications A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in engineering. Preferred relevant professional experience. Preferred Qualifications A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Prior college or university teaching experience with evidence of strong teaching. Preferred relevant professional experience. Salary and Benefits Initial appointments are for one semester and are prorated to the number of units worked, paid in six monthly payments per full semester. Salary ranges for Lecturer ranks (not to exceed) are: Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677 per month Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224 per month Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523 per month Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211 per month The CSU system provides a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance.
