Job Overview
- Role Summary: Analyze structural plans, material specifications, and shop fabrication workflows to build comprehensive cost estimates for prefabricated and modular shelter systems.
- Industry Focus: Manufacturing
- Primary Goal: Ensure company profitability by maintaining accurate cost projections and identifying production efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze Technical Data: Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to understand production requirements.
- Calculate Expenses: Determine costs for raw materials, direct labor, machine setup times, and factory overhead.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work alongside design engineers, production managers, and sales staff to review project feasibility and bid pricing.
- Optimize Costs: Recommend alternative materials or workflow adjustments to reduce waste and lower production expenses.
- Maintain Records: Track historical project data and compare estimated costs against actual production results to improve future accuracy.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Finance (or extensive hands-on experience in industrial shelter fabrication).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with structural steel fabrication, industrial coatings, sheet metal forming, weatherproofing insulation, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) integration.
- Core Competencies: Exceptional mathematical precision, strong negotiation skills for vendor alignment, and the ability to thrive under tight bidding deadlines, proficient in Excell a must.
