As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in planning, leading, and supporting recreational and therapeutic activities that promote physical, mental, and social well-being. Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning and facilitating a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Engage residents in group and individual activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment during all activities.
- Document participation and progress of residents in activities accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff and family members to meet residents’ needs and preferences.
- Set up and clean activity areas and materials as needed.
- Encourage residents' independence and participation to enhance their quality of life.
Requirements
- Previous experience in recreational therapy, activities coordination, or related fields preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient attitude.
- Creativity and enthusiasm to develop engaging and diverse activities.
- Ability to work effectively with elderly or special needs populations.
- Physical ability to assist in activities and set up required materials.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Commitment to promoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for all residents.
