Join the team and become part of our family!POSITION PURPOSE/MISSIONThis position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting scrap materials to and from customer locations. Through dependable service, safe driving practices, and clear communication, this role helps support daily scrap yard operations and maintain positive customer relationships.SCHEDULEMonday – Friday: 5:00 AM – 4:00 PMSaturday: 5:00 AM – 12:00 PMLOCATION: 700 S Main St, Niles, OHPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSafely climb in and out of a tractor cab/trailerSit for extended periods in a truck tractorWalk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery, including working outdoors in inclement weatherReach, including above the head, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneelOperate a tractor-trailer combination in all types of weather while safely transporting materialsOccasionally lift up to 25 lbs.Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis DatabasePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTwo plus years of experience in regional or long-haul truckingAbility to drive bucket, roll-off and lugger trucksHazmat endorsement and/or TWIC cardStrong customer service skillsFamiliarity with ELD systemsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent Or Enroll in our GED works programClass A CDL license requiredOne plus years of experience driving dump or flatbed trucksHave and maintain an acceptable MVR in compliance with DOT requirementsAbility to follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelinesGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well with other employees and customersProven ability to troubleshoot and problem-solveMAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIESSafely deliver and pick up scrap metal from various off-site facilitiesReview and secure Bill of Lading and other miscellaneous paperworkInspect trucks and trailers before and after trips and report any issuesMaintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel use, and hours of serviceCommunicate effectively with the Logistics & Scale Manager and customersFollow designated routes and meet delivery schedulesEnsure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicleEnsure a safe work environment and contribute to a highly engaging culture that fosters safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and trustORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Logistics & Scale ManagerPrimary internal customers: Logistics & Scale Manager, Yard Operations employeesPrimary external customers: Ferrous and non-ferrous scrap customersPOSITION CHALLENGESBalancing timely deliveries with safety and complianceNavigating variable weather and road conditionsManaging long hours and/or irregular schedulesMaintaining focus and alertness over long distancesHandling unexpected pickup issues or delays#appcast250We offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with a 401(k) plan that includes employer matching and profit sharing.
