Job Description

Join a leading manufacturer of engineered industrial products, including automatic backwash strainers, shell and tube heat exchangers, aftercoolers, and filtration systems for air and gas streams. As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth production by managing the movement, organization, and preparation of materials throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport materials within the plant, yard, and designated work areas.

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

• Use MRP system and WMS software to track inventory movement and update material records.

• Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to determine materials to be moved or distributed.

• Prepare and process Bills of Lading and other shipping/receiving documentation.

• Tag, label, and mark containers with identifying information for accurate tracking.

• Stack, band, and organize materials using banding machines and clinchers.

• Perform inventory counts, weigh, and record materials on daily production sheets.

Essential Skills

• 2–3 years of material handling experience with a consistent work history.

• Precision measuring skills for inbound materials and products.

• Ability to read work orders and follow verbal instructions.

• Familiarity with hand tools such as steel cutters and claw hammers.

• Experience operating forklifts, hand trucks, dollies, or cranes.

• Basic measurement skills using tape measures or dial calipers.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift or crane operation experience preferred.

• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.

• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial manufacturing environment focused on the fabrication of engineered heat exchange products. Expect a production floor setting with exposure to heavy materials and temperature variations based on the season and production activity. This is a physically demanding environment requiring standing, movement, and manual handling, with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided in accordance with safety standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of Tonawanda, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
