Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and the anesthesiologist and coordinate the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during operative procedures.
- Maintain patient safety throughout the perioperative phase, vigilantly observing for changes and addressing needs as part of the care team.
- Participate in preoperative assessment, care planning, and nursing treatment to support optimal surgical outcomes.
- Ensure instrument availability, proper counts, sterile technique, and readiness of supplies and equipment for each case; support the sterile processing and circulating nurse activities.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, anesthesia providers, and ancillary staff; document perioperative care and patient status accurately.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in California.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred or as mandated by the facility.
- Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience; strong teamwork and communication skills essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes surgical environment and to obtain facility credentialing within the required timeframe.
- Nursing degree from an accredited program (ASN or BSN) with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
