API Developer - Apigee Migration Specialist
Location: Coppell, TX, 75019 | Job Type: C2C
Join a dynamic engineering team as an API Developer, where you'll play a pivotal role in modernizing enterprise-wide API infrastructure. This position focuses on driving the migration from Apigee Edge to Apigee X/Hybrid, ensuring seamless API traffic management and scalability for a major organization. Leverage your hands-on expertise in Apigee and API gateway technologies to contribute to high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities - Design, build, and deploy API proxies using Apigee platforms.
- Develop and configure Apigee policies, traffic management rules, scripts, and workflows.
- Lead and support large-scale API migration efforts from Apigee Edge to Apigee X or Hybrid.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish and enforce API best practices and standards.
- Troubleshoot and optimize API performance and reliability across distributed environments.
- Consult on API development strategies, focusing on engineering excellence and scalable solutions. Required Skills and Experience - 7+ years of hands-on experience with Apigee Edge.
- Direct experience with Apigee X or Apigee Hybrid environments.
- Track record of successful API gateway migration projects.
- Deep understanding of API design, development, RESTful services, and web API concepts.
- Proficiency in API security and traffic management principles.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with distributed onshore/offshore teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment. Preferred Skills - Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
