Vice President Operations

Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with an established manufacturer in the Binghamton, NY area to identify an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead and strengthen its manufacturing organization. This is a highly visible leadership role for an operations executive who knows how to improve performance without disrupting the systems and practices that have helped build a successful business. The VP of Operations will oversee key functions including manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, scheduling, logistics, and HR , with a focus on increasing productivity, strengthening accountability, developing leaders, and delivering consistent operational results. What You’ll Lead Drive improvements in productivity, labor efficiency, equipment uptime, quality, and on-time delivery Lead and develop managers across multiple operational functions Strengthen accountability and build a high-performance operating culture Oversee production planning, scheduling, engineering, maintenance, and logistics Identify and implement practical continuous improvement initiatives Ensure operational priorities remain aligned with customer commitments and overall business goals Provide leadership for major engineering, maintenance, and operational projects What We’re Looking For 8+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership Experience overseeing multiple departments or operational functions Strong background in high-mix, low-volume, configure-to-order, or make-to-order manufacturing Hands-on ERP knowledge including production planning, scheduling, BOMs, and routings Demonstrated success improving productivity, equipment uptime, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, establish accountability, and drive change Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience preferred This opportunity offers the chance to have a meaningful impact on the performance and future growth of an established manufacturing organization while leading a broad and experienced operations team.
