About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in an emergency room setting, with at least 1 year in a Level 1 facility or 2 years in a Level 2 facility, including pediatric experience. License: Must have a valid state nursing license. Pending licenses accepted but must be obtained by the designated deadline. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (TNCC can be pending if obtained before the start date) Must-Have: Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma facilities; experience with pediatric patients; proficiency in Epic charting system. Description: This position requires working in a fast-paced emergency room setting. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, as shifts will vary based on staffing needs. The nurse will be expected to work weekends and 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Approval for time off is limited to a maximum of 40 hours per contract. The daily patient census in the emergency room is approximately 165, with a total of 71 beds available. The nurse will treat a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support will include physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and more. It is essential that candidates possess the required certifications and demonstrate relevant experience. All submitted candidates must provide verification of qualifications and references. Travelers may be required to float to various departments as necessary. Education requirements prefer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Candidates should disclose any planned time off between the offer acceptance and their start date. This role involves commitment to patient care in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
