About Coastal Waste & Recycling At Coastal Waste & Recycling, we're building more than a company, we're building a team. As one of the fastest-growing privately held waste and recycling companies in the Southeast, we're looking for people who take pride in their work, put safety first, and are ready to grow with us. Support the Team. Keep Operations Moving. Build Your Career. Do you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a team that gets the job done? As a Recycling Specialist at Coastal Waste & Recycling, you'll play a key role in supporting our collection and post-collection operations by helping maintain safe, clean, organized, and productive work environments. At Coastal, our Recycling Specialists do more than perform manual labor—they support multiple departments, solve problems, assist their teammates, and help keep our operations running safely and efficiently every day. Your Role As a Recycling Specialist, you'll perform a variety of hands-on tasks that support our collection and post-collection operations. You'll work alongside drivers, heavy equipment operators, maintenance employees, recycling personnel, and operational leadership to help maintain safe, organized, and efficient worksites. No two days are exactly the same. Whether you're supporting a collection yard, transfer station, recycling facility, landfill, or maintenance operation, you'll play an important role in helping our teams succeed. What You'll Do Support daily operations across collection and post-collection facilities. Perform a variety of manual labor tasks to assist operational teams. Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, equipment, containers, and supplies. Assist drivers, heavy equipment operators, recycling personnel, maintenance employees, and other operational team members. Perform facility housekeeping, litter collection, pressure washing, landscaping, and general site cleanup. Support minor facility maintenance, painting, and general site improvement projects. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, pressure washers, and other equipment as assigned. Assist with traffic control, equipment spotting, and maintaining safe work areas. Identify and report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, environmental concerns, or operational issues. Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work safely around heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, and industrial operations. Support storm response, special projects, and other operational initiatives as business needs require. What You'll Bring One (1) or more years of experience in construction, landscaping, warehouse, manufacturing, transportation, waste and recycling, utilities, or another physically demanding work environment. Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a variety of hands‑on tasks. Ability to work safely in outdoor operational environments. Dependable attendance and a positive attitude. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Commitment to safety and operational excellence. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, or light equipment, a valid driver's license, and bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) are a plus.
