Travel RN – Cardiac Step-Down (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week with 3–4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period | Projected Start: September 28, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Cardiac Med-Surg unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry (airstrip/GE telemetry system) and perform EKG rhythm identification
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem and heparin; administer non-titratable drips such as dopamine, dobutamine, and amiodarone
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including a free CNC/charge nurse, unit secretary (day shift), and 3 PCTs per shift
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and telemetry/EKG certifications throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (must meet state requirements)
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Telemetry/EKG cardiac rhythm identification certification or demonstrated competency required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Proficiency with cardiac medications and drip management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
• Background in cardiac or telemetry nursing
• Familiarity with GE telemetry systems and Rover technology
• Travel nursing experience with ability to float in rotation with other travel nurses
