Customer Sales - Commercial Sales Executive

Location: Beloit/Janesville/Whitewater, WI area
Compensation: $75k - $100k base + commission

About the Opportunity:

We are assisting a well-established and growing transportation brokerage in adding a Commercial Sales Executive to their team. This company moves close to $50M in freight annually across a wide range of modes and has a dedicated operations team that handles load execution so their sales reps can focus entirely on selling. This is a family-owned business with direct access to leadership, no layers of corporate process, and real upside for someone who produces.

This is a 100% new business development role. You will not book trucks, track loads, or manage day-to-day freight operations. You sell. Their team runs the freight.

Responsibilities:

• Prospect and develop new shipper relationships through cold calls, emails, networking, and in-person visits
• Build and manage your own pipeline independently using CRM and lead generation tools
• Learn a prospect’s freight network and identify where the company can add value
• Work with the internal pricing team to build transportation solutions and respond to opportunities
• Convert new opportunities into consistent, long-term customers
• Grow existing accounts by identifying additional lanes and freight opportunities
• Check in with accounts every 30 days or quarterly after they are handed to the operations team
• Keep pipeline and sales activity organized and current in the CRM

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Customer Sales experience within a 3pl brokerage (full-cycle new business development experience strongly preferred)
• Track record of building a book from scratch
• Comfortable picking up the phone, starting cold conversations, and following up persistently
• Self-directed and organized; comfortable managing pipeline and CRM
• Strong communicator who sells on service and relationships, not just price
• Competitive, accountable, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Willing to travel to Janesville, WI every six weeks for three to five days during the first 12 months
