Welder Class 2Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM $29.47 HourlyMIG & TIG, Aluminum and Stainless SteelSummary OverviewThe Welder Class 2 is responsible for performing advanced welding tasks in support of manufacturing and production operations. This role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, execute complex welds with precision, and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards. The Welder Class 2 supports continuous production operations, mentors junior welders, and collaborates with engineering and fabrication teams to resolve technical challenges.ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret advanced blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding requirementsPerform specialized welding techniques including TIG, MIG, and spot welding on various metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and alloysAdjust welding machines and equipment settings according to project and material specificationsPrepare and clean metal surfaces prior to welding to ensure strong, high-quality weldsExecute complex welding projects requiring high precision and attention to detailInspect welded components and structures to identify defects or weaknessesUse advanced measuring tools to verify alignment and dimensional accuracyCollaborate with engineering and design teams to troubleshoot fabrication challengesFollow strict safety protocols when operating welding equipment and handling hazardous materialsDocument welding procedures, results, and techniques for compliance and quality controlParticipate in training to maintain current knowledge of welding techniques and safety standardsMentor and guide Class 1 welders to strengthen team performanceMaintain and perform basic repairs on welding equipment to ensure operational readinessManage inventory of welding supplies, including gases and electrodesRespond to production line calls to provide timely welding support and minimize downtimeDemonstrate strong problem-solving, customer service, interpersonal, and communication skillsPerform any additional duties as assigned by managementQualifications18 years of age or olderMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, including technical documentsMust have reliable transportationProven experience in advanced welding techniquesAbility to operate and adjust welding machinery safely and effectivelyStrong attention to detail and precisionAbility to use electronic devices including tablets, computers, and mobile devices as requiredPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).Ability to work flexible schedules as operational needs requirePhysical Activity / Working Conditions May IncludeAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 70 poundsAbility to reach with hands and arms, grasp, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawlExposure to moderate and at times high noise levelsAbility to hear and respond to spoken voice and audible alarmsSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusThe pay rate listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position.
