About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of Operations to play a pivotal role in the transition from advanced development to the initial production, testing, and deployment of high-performance hardware systems. The successful candidate will be a builder-operator, responsible for establishing and scaling core operational capabilities, including production, quality, facilities, and day-to-day execution. This hands-on leadership position demands a professional with a strong background in aerospace, defense, propulsion, or other high-reliability systems, and a proven track record of taking complex hardware from prototype to early production. The Head of Operations will be tasked with defining and implementing production workflows, tooling strategies, and factory layouts, as well as establishing metrics for safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance. Applicants for the Head of Operations role at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in operations, manufacturing, or production leadership, with a preference for those who have worked at venture-backed or early-stage hardware companies. The role requires a leader who can build processes and teams from the ground up, is comfortable operating in ambiguous and resource-limited environments, and has excellent leadership, communication, and execution skills. Responsibilities also include cross-functional execution, team and organizational development, and acting as a core member of the executive team to shape company strategy and culture. The ideal candidate will have an engineering background, be familiar with ITAR-controlled environments, and have experience with government or defense customers.
