Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable managing a mix of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank and credit card reconciliations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong Sage experience, a positive attitude, and the ability to work onsite initially before transitioning to a hybrid schedule.This position will start as soon as possible and is based in Oakland, CA. The selected candidate will work onsite for the first few weeks to support training and onboarding, then transition to a 3 days onsite / 2 days remote hybrid schedule.Key Responsibilities:Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.Process vendor invoices, customer payments, and related accounting transactions accurately and timely.Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are resolved.Maintain accurate financial records and support general ledger activity.Assist with month-end close tasks and account reconciliations.Work closely with internal leadership to ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and up to date.Utilize Sage software for transaction processing, account maintenance, and reporting.Support ongoing accounting operations and help identify opportunities for process improvement.
