CNC Machinist IThe CNC Machinist I is responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC and manual machines as well as the inspection of parts. Must have the ability to follow written instructions and is responsible for monitoring the equipment to its full capacity. Must have the ability to perform work according to specifications and company quality standards.Key AccountabilitiesProficient in the setup, use and basic maintenance of CNC Lathe or CNC Vertical Mill inclusive of 5, 4 and 3 axis milling machines. This includes interacting with all aspects of a machine's controls and operating software as well as comprehension of tool touch off procedure with understanding of tool compensation and wear offsets to deliver product within specificationResponsible for the changeover of product with basic set up including work holding fixtures, stops, datum offsets and indicators. Monitors wear conditions on all cutting tools to determine replacement frequencyEnsures work area, machine tooling and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil deposits; maintains coolant and machine lubrication fluid systems, must use a refractometerReceives work orders and verifies that the components are correct. Regularly meets or exceeds production quotasDetermine and implement cutting tool offsets, use MDI and assist with editing programs; evaluate and act upon machine alarms and error messages. Trouble shoots and repair equipment when not operating properly. Determine andimplement alternative tooling approaches when the need arises. Identify root causes of problems and resolves without supervision. Ability to streamline machining processes.Participates in activities related to new product development and implementation into production.Trains CNC Machine Operators on machinery, including but not limited to training and mentoring. Proposes continuous improvement opportunities for all processes. Will document and submit to management all necessary revisions to Work Order Routings, Work Instructions and Quality Inspection documentation.Operates various secondary and special purpose machines including drill presses and trademarking fixtures and mechanical presses along with performing deburring product and chip cleaning operations.Collaborates with management to identify manufacturing issues and assists with cross training efforts, when necessary.Preferred Qualifications:set- up operation and basic maintenance of CNC and manual milling and/or turning machinesGood communication skills in English, including the ability to read, write and comprehendAbility to read and interpret blueprints and work instructionsExcellent attention to detailAbility to troubleshootDemonstrates exceptional teamworkAbility to drive others to exceed goalsAbility to work independently in a high volume, fast paced work atmosphereBasic skills in MS Office SuiteAbility to work overtime, as scheduledCollege Level manufacturing certificationRequired Qualifications:5+ years of machining experience on CNC equipment and related degree or equivalent combination of both
