Fairview Hospital's Postpartum Mother/Baby unit cares for mothers and their new infants by providing education and coordinating a simple transition to home. As a Nightingale RN, you will leverage your experience as a retired hospital Registered Nurse to mentor and support newer nurses within the organization while providing direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) between 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide coaching, teaching and educational material as appropriate. Provide assessments and audits of daily practice. Assess and coordinate patient\'s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Assess educational needs of the patient and significant others considering cultural issues and other special concerns. Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient conditions as appropriate. Monitor and document patient\'s condition and effectiveness and timeliness of care and/or interventions. Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocol. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Validate and document patient and family understanding of teaching. Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study. Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon rehire *Upon hire RNs in Children\'s Hospital and Children\'s Hospital for Rehabilitation will achieve and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) with the exception of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RNs who must achieve and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through American Heart Association (AHA) provider status and RNs in the Special Delivery Unit, who must achieve and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Three years of experience in an RN position at the Cleveland Clinic immediately prior to retirement Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelors of science in nursing (BSN) OB experienced RN Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Range Minimum hourly: $43.00 Maximum hourly: $43.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
