AUDITOR

Position Description:

Plans and performs financial, operational, and compliance audits across multiple disciplines and in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. Provides an independent control and appraisal function to examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls. Provides analyses, appraisals, recommendations, professional counsel and other pertinent information to assist management in the achievement of their objectives. Assists the General Auditor as necessary to effectively manage the financial and operational audit team.

Essential Job Tasks:

• Plans and performs advanced and specialized financial and operational audits across multiple disciplines in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
• Interprets policy and procedure and applies professional accounting and auditing principles and standards to test and evaluate financial records and operational systems.
• Identifies and analyzes causes of inefficient and/or ineffective practices in the assigned area of responsibility and recommends alternatives or best practices designed to yield desired results and meet business objectives.
• Communicates with auditee throughout the audit process. Prepares clear and concise audit reports to effectively communicate audit results.
• Conducts follow-up reviews to ensure agreed-upon action plans are completed in a timely and effective manner.
• Maintains a working knowledge of current auditing techniques, professional auditing standards and stays abreast of current events at Santee Cooper.
• Under the direction of the General Auditor, provides on-the-job training to assigned audit staff and review workpapers prepared by assigned auditors for completeness, accuracy and compliance with audit standards and conduct or assist in conducting, entrance and exit conference and meetings with clients during an audit.
• Coordinates with the General Auditor and the external auditors in planning and execution of the external audit review.
• Coordinates with the General Auditor in creating, reviewing and implementing department policies and procedures.
• Participates on corporate committees and cross functional teams to provide consultation and enhance knowledge of decisions effecting corporate goals and objectives.

Position Requirements:

Auditor

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related discipline required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Professional License preferred.

Compensation Information:
$60,470 - $105,210 (min. - mid.)

Sr. Auditor

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related discipline + 5 years experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Professional License required.

Compensation Information:
$93,830 - $117,290 (min. - mid.)
