LVN / LPN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical

10-week assignment with an end date of 01/02/27. LPNs may not assume assignment and act as resources in overflow or med/surg units. LPNs may be utilized as PCT. This is a 14-bed overflow unit accommodating ED boarder patients. It will serve as a med/surg tele unit. The unit will be flexible, with the number of patients varying based on demand and boarder numbers. RNs must demonstrate competency in phlebotomy and IV placement as these are required skills. Candidates should be prepared to float and cover care for med/surg patients. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates must have experience with telemetry and additional nursing skills, including patient assessments and vital sign monitoring. Communication of patient status changes to the RN/MD is essential. Candidates should be familiar with isolation precautions and patient care protocols. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Additional responsibilities may include admission of patients, wound care, and monitoring of blood products. Experience in an interdisciplinary support environment is desired.
