Construction Project Manager (Government Contracts, Piping, Industrial HVAC, Mechanical Retrofit/Installation) Location: Atlanta, GA Salary: $120,000 USD per year Job Summary The Project Manager is responsible for effectively overseeing and managing the construction of one large and/or multiple smaller scale projects. Projects may be mechanical or multi-disciplined in accordance with the established construction budget to ensure customer satisfaction and manage the quality of installation. The manager handles material and labor to ensure timely and smooth-running projects, assists in training Project Supervisors, Foremen and Technicians, and sets a standard of excellence that positively impacts all personnel on the project. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 7+ years of managing government contracts. PMP certification preferred. 6+ years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction. Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.). OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain). Job Responsibilities Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. Create, maintain, and follow a construction schedule assigning appropriate personnel to complete projects on schedule and within budget. Determine and advise on all local laws concerning landfills, carting companies, local mechanical codes and permitting. Ensure safety practices are followed and work is performed safely and productively. Efficiently manage multiple energy efficiency projects concurrently. Prepare and deliver performance evaluations; discipline, train, or counsel assigned personnel as appropriate. Maintain effective communications at all levels, including clients, executives, subcontractors, agents of code enforcement, engineers, architects, and employees. Manage subcontractors per contract requirements, both internally and onsite. Maintain a clean and safe work site, ensuring proper recycling and waste disposal per local ordinances. Walk project sites before starting installation to identify specialized equipment requirements. Verify correctness and quality of work, ensuring it meets or exceeds customer expectations. Accurately monitor, track, and maintain records of all materials utilized. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure deliverables are executed timely. Procure storage facilities for project materials and equipment as needed. Create and maintain project risk plans. Oversee project quality assurance requirements. Physical Demands and Work Environment Climbing ladders, kneeling, reaching, balancing, lifting up to 40 pounds regularly, working overhead. May need to stand for extended periods and negotiate uneven terrain. Environment varies indoors and outdoors in various climates, conditioned and unconditioned spaces.
