We are excited to open our new Romeoville branch and are looking for an Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) to join the team and help us build something special from the ground up.

The ABM works closely with the Branch Manager to support daily operations, coach and develop employees, deliver exceptional member service, and help achieve branch goals. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their leadership career at a credit union.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Branch Manager in coaching, training, and developing branch employees while promoting teamwork, accountability, and exceptional member service.
• Support branch sales, service, operational, and production goals.
• Serve members in a Member Service Representative or Financial Service Representative capacity as needed, including transactions, account services, lending, and product recommendations.
• Build relationships with members and support community engagement and branch growth initiatives.
• Provide general oversight of branch operations, including opening/closing, vault balancing, daily business, cash ordering, and ATM maintenance.
• Oversee the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
• Assist with employee performance reviews and ongoing coaching.
• Troubleshoot and resolve member and operational concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Completes daily branch operations, including cash, vault, ATM, opening/closing, security, and administrative responsibilities.
• Conduct quarterly surprise cash audits and ensure compliance with cash-handling procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve branch operations and assist with implementation.
• Promote ECU products and services based on members’ financial needs.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–3 years of banking or credit union experience preferred.
• Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Member Service Representative and Financial Service Representative responsibilities.
• Strong sales, member service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to coach, lead, and develop employees.
• Strong listening, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Professional, approachable, and committed to exceptional member experience.
• Ability to adapt to change and learn new technology, processes, and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Portico experience preferred.
• Reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
• NMLS license or ability to obtain one within the required timeframe.
• Notary Public commission required within 90 days of employment.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, generally 8:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional later hours
• Saturdays, generally 7:45 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
• Flexibility to participate in community events as needed
• Available to work at other branches as needed (Oswego, Batavia, Yorkville, Aurora, and Montgomery)
