About the Role

We're hiring a Backend Engineer (Senior-Staff) to build and scale core systems powering a high-traffic consumer platform.

This role is heavily focused on Java and distributed systems - ideal for engineers who have built and operated backend services in production at scale.

What You'll Do

Build and scale backend services using Java in a microservices architecture
Design distributed systems focused on performance, reliability, and scalability
Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction
Drive best practices across CI/CD, monitoring, and system reliability

What We're Looking For

5-8+ years of backend engineering experience
Strong, hands-on Java experience (core requirement)
Proven experience building distributed systems at scale
Startup or high-growth environment experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

$170,000 - $225,000 base + equity + bonus
