Tenure-Track or Tenured Faculty Position in Biomedical Ethics Department of Philosophy & World Religions, Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, Rowan University. Appointment 10‑month, full‑time, tenure‑track or tenured faculty member. Appointment to begin September 1, 2026. Positions at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels. Research Focus Develop a research program in Biomedical Ethics and contribute to a research cluster in the medical and health humanities within the Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences. Qualifications Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related field. Track record or potential to establish and sustain a strong research program in biomedical ethics. Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to inclusive teaching and mentoring practices. Experience securing competitive public grant and private foundation funding. Engagement in service at the departmental, college, or university level. Responsibilities Develop courses and interdisciplinary programs in biomedical ethics or related areas such as ethics of technology, philosophy of medicine and science, disability ethics, and reproductive ethics. Coordinate events on these topics, including research talks, public lectures, conferences, and student‑focused programming. Recruit students and support growth of department majors, minors, and certificate programs. Secure extramural funding to support research, programming, and interdisciplinary initiatives. Engage in service endeavors in the department, college, and university. Salary and Benefits Annual base salary ranges (AFT): Assistant Professor: $22 – 25 k Associate Professor: $26 – 29 k Full Professor: $30 – 33 k Benefits include comprehensive NJ State health, dental, and retirement benefits, paid time off, tuition reimbursement for employees, spouses, and dependents, and other standard university benefits.
